Injured at Work

Chiropractic Care for Work Injuries

Work injuries range from a single lifting strain to pain that builds over months of repetitive motion, long drives, or hours at a desk. Either way, the goal is the same: reduce pain, restore function, and get you back to your job without re-injury.

Chiropractic care is a conservative, drug-free option for many common work injuries, including low back strain, neck pain, shoulder problems, and sciatica. Dr. Demsky combines adjustments with therapies and a tailored home exercise program so progress continues between visits.

Demsky Chiropractic bills Workers’ Compensation claims directly. Once your claim is open, treatment can begin without out-of-pocket cost to you.

How It Works

How a Workers’ Comp Visit Works

1

Report the injury to your employer

Ohio requires work injuries to be reported to your employer, who starts the claim. If a claim is already open, have your claim number ready when you call.

2

Call us to schedule

Let us know your visit is for a work injury. We’ll get you in the same week and confirm what information is needed for your claim.

3

Exam and treatment plan

Your first visit includes a full history of the injury and a physical exam. You’ll receive an individualized condition report and a tailored home exercise program, and treatment usually begins the same day.

4

Documentation and return to work

Progress is documented at each visit for your claim, and your plan is built around a safe return to your normal duties.

Our Approach

How We Evaluate Work Injuries

Your first visit starts with a detailed history of the injury and your job demands, followed by a physical exam with orthopedic, neurological, and range-of-motion testing. Most work injuries can be evaluated and treated without imaging.

If your symptoms, exam findings, or response to care suggest something that needs a closer look, Dr. Demsky will recommend imaging or refer you to the appropriate physician or specialist.

Seek immediate medical attention (call 911 or go to the ER) for loss of bladder or bowel control, progressive weakness or numbness in the arms or legs, a suspected fracture, or an injury from a significant fall or impact. These can indicate an emergency that chiropractic care is not appropriate for.

FAQ

Workers’ Comp Questions

Does workers’ comp cover chiropractic care in Ohio?

Yes. Chiropractic care is a covered treatment for many work-related injuries under Ohio workers’ compensation. We bill the claim directly once it is open.

Do I pay anything out of pocket?

With an open, approved claim, covered treatment is billed to workers’ compensation rather than to you. Call us with your claim number and we’ll confirm the details before your visit.

What if my claim hasn’t been approved yet?

Call us. We can often begin care while the claim is pending and will explain your options before you’re seen.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No referral is needed to be seen at Demsky Chiropractic.

Will you provide documentation for my employer or claim?

Yes. Exam findings, treatment plans, and progress are documented at each visit and can be provided for your claim, your employer, or your claims administrator.

Can I keep working during treatment?

Often, yes. Your plan is built around a safe return to your normal duties, and Dr. Demsky will discuss any temporary restrictions with you.
